Wish I had 2x as many. We've been diligent about not taking these containers from one temp to a drastic other as I've read so many reviews that say don't... but otherwise they're well worth the money.

Anchor Hocking 92093 Review by Don't Shop! Adopt!

Pros:

Sturdy
Glass doesn't leach anything into food and doesn't stain/absorb odor
Glass is made in USA
Reasonable price for glass storage
Preferred to Snap Lock style because I've seen tabs break off/ wear out

Cons:

Lids are still plastic and made in China
Not perfectly leak-proof

Bottom Line:

I would recommend these and ended up buying an additional set. The seal on these is not perfect, but then again I've never seen one that is and the seal is far superior to my old plastic Rubbermaid containers. When I say 'not perfect' I mean that if you put liquid in one and invert the container you might get a few drips. If you get the 10 piece set, many of the bottoms will nest inside each other or stack like bowls. I hand wash the lids so they don't deform with time and so that the high heat of the dishwasher doesn't release any chemicals from the plastic. No problems with the glass chipping and the bottoms have been through dishwasher several times. Amazon usually has the best price on the 10 pc. set, but Target, Sur La Table, and several other places carry individual pieces too.

I just received my 10 piece storage set and am very happy. The bowls are solid and the lids fit tight while still being easy to put on and off. They nestle into one another, so they don't take up much space in my cabinet. I think the 7 cup and 4 cup sizes will be used the most. I wish they had a couple of larger sizes in the round, as the 7 cup is not very big. I am definitely going to order one or two more sets to meet my needs; perhaps even the 11 cup rectangular one. The price is very reasonable. I am not using these to transport food for lunches, so can't speak about leakage, but they are great for storing hot leftovers. (I also have BPA plastic containers, I use for produce, but I never put hot food into them, even though they are BPA free; hot food in plastic, just feels wrong.) This review can't speak for longevity; however the pieces do come with a five year warranty from chips and cracks, so the other reviewer should have returned hers instead of throwing it away. I don't think the lids are part of the warranty, but at least you can buy replacements if need be. (Lids are a little costly when compared to the cost for the set. Lids cost between $1.00-$3.50 depending on size; so I will be sure to hand wash and care for them as best as possible.)

I like these so much, I will probably also order extra sets for Christmas presents! Happy customer!
